As a Scout in the back row of the 1967 Gang Show, I had little idea then that I would be writing these words that welcome you tonight. Worthing's Gang has been enthusiastically entertaining audiences since then, and the 2001 Gang is no exception. With an average age of fourteen and a half, this year's Gang is probably the youngest to tread the boards at the Pavilion. Back in 1971 the Late Ralph Reader, creator of Gang Shows, awarded the coveted Red Scarf to Worthing. This year's Cast wears that scarf with as much pride as all the Worthing Gangs have in the last thirty years. Over this time hundreds of Scouts and Guides from the Worthing area have experienced the Thrill of Gang Show. Our second act opens with a number especially written ~ to support the "Dreams Come True" charity that will benefit, along with the "Children's Centre", from our interval collection. Please give generously for these very worthy causes. Just quickly before the overture starts, I must thank every body who has supported this years show for the many, many hours they have toiled for the sake of "Gang Show': Please. sit back, enjoy this evening, but hang on to your seat as this year's "Gang" entertains you.
